Short Description:

We often confuse innovation with invention and creativity. In this talk we will explore a new way to understand radical innovation that is shaping the world.

We will discuss specific design practice and design methods that anyone can use to produce product and services that are truly innovative and even game changing.

Various real world industry examples will be used to explain key concepts. We will link theory with practice and come up with business models and scenarios that can form a starting point for you to practice and lead design-driven innovations.

About Dr. Humayun (Hugh) Rashid:

? Dr. Hugh is a practitioner-scholar with over 25 years of experience working and consulting with global organizations in the US, Europe and Asia.

? Over the last few years he has taught Innovation and Entrepreneurship at various universities including University of Southern California (USC), Wuhan University and Chongqing University.

? He is also founder and managing partner of Xavor Corporation which provides innovative business solutions to leading High-Tech Manufacturers (various Apple suppliers) in the USA.

? He has a BBA from University of Texas Austin, MBA from University of California at Irvine and Doctorate in Management from Case Western University in Cleveland, Ohio.

? Currently he is working on a book project focused on applying principles of innovation and entrepreneurship to provide novel approaches and solutions in extreme poverty situations.

? In his spare time, he enjoys reading, traveling (to over 50 countries) and cruising the ocean in his Yacht.
